York County Register of Deeds
The Office of the Register of Deeds welcomes you to our website. In York County, the Register of Deeds also serves as ex officio Election Commissioner and County Clerk. The Register of Deeds is a partisan-elective position with a four year term.
On this Website, you will find specific information and/or links to the many aspects of the Register of Deeds Office.
The Register of Deeds shall keep a book/and or computerized system, as provided by §23-1517.02 in which every instrument filed for record in his/her office shall be entered at the time of filing and is available for public inspection. In July 2003, the indexing of documents became computerized. In August of 2010, the office began E-File Recording documents.
Documents are accepted for filing through E-Recording systems SIMPLIFILE and CSC, mail and over the counter. Documents are accepted over the counter Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM and Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Documents are not accepted after the cut-off times. Submitters coming to the counter after the cut-off times will be asked to return with the document(s) on the next business day.
