York County is looking for an individual who is committed to public service, dedicated and professional with prior supervisory experience and looking to make a difference with their unique skills, while working as part of a team in the position of 911 Telecommunications Director.  This is a newly created  City/County (PSAP/911 center) for all York County . Under the direction of the E911 Communications board, performs administrative and supervisory work in coordinating, planning, organizing, budgeting and operating the area wide 911 communications system including telephone service, multi-channel radio system, law enforcement teletype system, weather system, and processing and recording systems for 911, ambulance, rescue, sheriff and fire (including all  rural fire and rescue units in the county) and York and Henderson Police Department's.

Requirements: A minimum five years of work experience as a dispatcher, high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, ability to obtain NCIC and Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification's,  have a  good moral character with no felony conviction or certain misdemeanor convictions. The successful candidate will have  knowledge of modern law enforcement principles and procedures, and will possess the ability to train others to think clearly and act quickly in an emergency situation. Pre-employment drug test and background check are required.

York County is located between Grand Island and Lincoln on Interstate 80 in South Central Nebraska. York County has an excellent school system and medical facilities in York and Henderson.
